The Cruise Maps page uses the Google Maps API to provide maps of interest to cruise passengers.
There are several features that will help you utilize the page to its fullest.
Just as with Google Maps, you may single click and drag the map around, or double
click to center and zoom in.
Each of the markers notes an area of interest on the map. The title of the marker is
displayed alongside the marker. If you click on the link or on the marker, an information window will
pop up pointing to the appropriate marker.
If you wish to view the map area underneath a marker or text label, simply uncheck one or both
check boxes just below the map. This will toggle the markers and labels off and on.
Inside the pop-up information window, if the marker is pointing to a place that can be reached by
road, there will be an option to request driving directions either to or from the point of
interest.
To get directions, click on the From Here or To Here link. A small text box will appear.
Enter a zip code, a three letter airport code, a city and state, or a full street address,
then click the Get Directions
button. A new page will open at Google Maps with the appropriate directions displayed.
You may also leave the text box blank, if you wish to choose the origin or destination
using the map that opens up in the new page. This is a nice new function of Google Maps.
