This is a map of Port Canaveral, Florida. I've added the
waypoint coordinates recorded with a Garmin GPS V receiver in November
2005 as Grandeur of the Seas neared the end of her nine day cruise to the
Western Caribbean. The points are plotted from about an hour before
arriving from the south, to about an hour after leaving to the north. If
you zoom in close to the actual pier, you will see quite a bit of zig-
zagging in the plot. I think this is because I forgot to turn off the
tracking function while I was walking around on deck and
I've also added markers for two points of
interest in the area. The marker to the north is directly in between the
two Space Shuttle Launch pads, 39A and 39B, at the Kennedy Space Center.
You can clearly see why someone lucky enough to be on a cruise ship
docked in Port Canaveral during a shuttle launch would get an excellent
view. The marker to the south is the world famous Ron Jon surf shop! No
visit to Cocoa Beach is complete without stopping by to pick up another
tee shirt for the collection.
