St. John, United States Virgin Islands. St. John is unique in that over 50%
of the island is designated National Park. Some of the best beaches in the world
are on St. John, including a snorkel trail in Trunk Bay.
St. John is rarely a primary stop for cruise ships, but can easily be reached by taxi
and ferry for a one day excursion from St. Thomas. You can also catch a ferry
directly from Charlotte Amalie, but be prepared for a rough ride as the course
takes you beyond the protected waters of the harbor, into the open ocean.
